The Laguna Creek Watershed Council’s Great Sierra Clean Up is on Saturday September 21st at 9 am. Each fall they work with the Sierra Nevada Conservancy to sponsor a creek clean up. You have probably been reading or hearing about all the plastic pollution….in our local creeks and in the ocean. Our local creeks drain to the Sacramento River, the San Francisco Bay, and eventually the ocean. A recent newspaper article states there is now more plastic in the ocean, measured by weight, than there are pounds of fish. Something is wrong with this picture!! We can do our share by keeping our creeks free of plastic bags, bottles, and other types of trash. When: Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, 9 am – noon
Where: Zimbelman Park, 9191 Big Horn Blvd., Elk Grove
What to bring: gloves, closed toes shoes, water and a hat
